The theme of this story is greedy.
The two musicians were greedy.
In order to get money from the small girl,they were competing with each other using their skills in playing musical instrument.
In the end,due to their greediness,they ended up with nothing although they have performed perfectly.
While on the other hand,the little girl who was not greedy instead get a bucket of coins.
This shows that the theme of the story is about greed.
